About

YSSC

Located in Shilin, the "Yuanshan Bowling Alley" opened in 1966. It was built with an investment of 70 million NT dollars by Liu Tianlu, a Chinese expatriate who had lived in Japan. At the opening, more than 30 major celebrities lined up together for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The bowling alley had 36 lanes, all fully automated, making it the newest and most luxurious bowling alley of its time. The classic symbol of Yuanshan Bowling Alley is the large bowling pin sign at the entrance. After entering through the grand staircase, visitors would exchange a shoe rental ticket for red and black bowling shoes, then take a shared ball from the common area, clean their own bowling ball, and head to the lane to place the ball on the return machine. The rows of lanes were truly spectacular. Even as time has passed and the equipment has become somewhat outdated, one can still vaguely see the crowds of the past and the grand atmosphere.
